Abigail Spanberger is a Democrat who will fight against your Second Amendment Rights. Her recent comments made at an Everytown for Gun Safety event only reinforced her plans to restrict and almost abolish gun ownership, if she wins Virginia’s critical gubernatorial race this November. This is in stark contrast with her opponent, Republican Lieutenant Governor. Winsome Sears is a gun rights activist who has been a strong advocate for many years.
Four teenagers were arrested on April 9 for a shooting in Spotsylvania Virginia that resulted in three deaths. Spanberger seized the opportunity to attack responsible gun ownership.
She said, “I will pass legislation to address these issues and keep Virginia families safe,” at the rally. “I won’t veto sensible proposals as our current governor did.”
In the last four decades, Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin, Lt. Governor Winsome Sears has been the shield that gun owners needed to protect their Second Amendment Rights from California-style Democrats such as Spanberger. Sears is the only candidate who can win both the Senate as well as the House of Delegates, which are also up for elections this year.
During his tenure, Youngkin has vetoed the 54 gun control laws that radical Democrats have sent to his desk. The story would have been very different if the roles had been reversed. After all, Spanberger already indicated that she would sign the gun control bills sent her way.
If Democrats had the blue trifecta they would have banned “assault weaponry” and certain large capacity magazines ( HB 1607), and prohibited hair triggers and binary triggers as well as various other modifications that are used by professional and competitive shooters ( HB 1660).
For now, only simple bolt-action and single-fire rifles will be available.
Visitors to Virginia who are licensed in states with less restrictive gun laws would not be allowed to carry concealed weapons ( HB 1797). Even if the visitors were able carry, location restrictions could make it difficult for them to carry outside their own homes ( HB 1977).
Hospitals and mental health facilities would be included in the expanded list of sensitive locations.
There are many other bills that target gun manufacturers, age of purchase, red-flag laws, or increased restrictions on firearm transfers.
“I took an oath of allegiance to the Constitution of Virginia and the Constitution of the United States of America, which includes the right of law-abiding Virginians who follow the laws to bear arms,” stated Governor. Youngkin.
Republican front-runner for governor and current Lt. Governor. Winsome Sears shares the same passion for the Second Amendment that Youngkin does. Virginians need to make sure she’s elected in order to protect Virginia constitutional rights.
