MANASSAS (Virginia) —Sometimes, in politics, you can’t even bring yourself to talk about the other side.
We can call it “immunity through insanity”.
The Democrats’ victory in Virginia‘s 2020 elections was a good example. Republicans criticized the Democrats’ extreme and unpopular gender ideologies and their radical policies. This made Republicans look like nutcases.
In response, Republicans withdrew from the issue late in the campaign.
Here are the basic principles of Virginia Democrats’ policies on gender:
Richard Cox, a repeat Tier-1 offender in Northern Virginia, was allowed to enter female locker rooms at local high schools and rec centers where he exposed himself and made lewd remarks about women and girls. It was not due to oversights, but rather deliberate policies by Democrats at the state and county level.
Abigail Spanberger , the incoming Virginia governor, did not create these policies. Her party did. She has pledged her allegiance and shown it repeatedly. She voted in favor of a law that makes discrimination based on gender identity a federal offense.
She believes Cox to be a woman and anyone who denies this or refuses his entry into female locker rooms is guilty of discrimination and bigotry. She believes that the people who opposed Cox’s entry into female locker rooms were the criminals.
But that’s just the beginning of Virginia Democrats’ sexist insanity.
Loudoun School District Suspended Two boys who expressed discomfort about a girl in the boys’ bathroom.
A few years back, the same district covered up an assault at school when the attacker entered a girls’ bathroom wearing a skirt . This would have led to a debate about transgender bathrooms. Democrats and media turned the father of the victim into a terrorist because he was angry about the cover-up.
Democrats in the legislature of this state pushed a Bill that declared it child abuse when a parent does not affirm their child’s new identity. The sponsor of the bill was also on the ballot.
Add to that the increasing problem of boys participating in girls’ sports and winning, and Democrats should be concerned about their gender ideology. Linda, a Catholic woman named Linda in her 70s, who was a Democrat voter in McLean Virginia, told me that gender ideology is a problem in the schools of northern Virginia. I’m glad that my children are now adults and no longer in the school system.
She went on to say, “It is unimaginable… I really feel sorry for the parents of today with all this transgender stuff.”
She voted for all the Democrats, despite the fact that she did not know what the candidates’ positions were on the issue.
The majority of Virginia voters (51 %) told pollsters the transgender agenda had gone too far.
Transgender issues were the top concern of every Republican voter that I spoke to on or before Election Day. Parents were usually indirect or even apologized for it. Some parents would use the codeword “school issues” as a euphemism.
The same hesitation was seen among GOP candidates as they approached the finish line. In her last campaign appearance in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., Republican nominee for Governor, Lt. Winsome Earle Sears didn’t mention the topic, even though her campaign had focused on it earlier this fall.
The polling clearly showed that she should abandon the topic.
It may seem counterintuitive considering the majority of voters agreed with her. There’s an unchanging rule in politics: Whoever is obsessed with social issues, regardless of their side, will lose.
Another persistent dynamic is “immunity through insanity.”
You sound insane when you say that Cox exposed his body in the locker rooms of high school girls because Democrats’ policies allowed him to be there. You sound insane when you claim that Democrats wanted to remove daughters from their parents because they refused to accept their daughters’ new identity as boys.
The Democrats didn’t discuss gender ideology during the campaign. They even kept their transgender legislator, Danica Romme, in the shadows. Democrats believed they could avoid the issue and not have to respond to the allegations.
The Republicans eventually stopped saying such things.
Democrats face a similar problem in regards to the corruption of President Donald Trump.
Trump makes hundreds of millions of dollars from meme coin. These are literally worthless digital tokens. He just pardoned an crypto billion It would have been the biggest scandal for a president in many years. But Democrats are unable to bring up his crypto-related behavior.
Virginia Republicans realized that they could not harp about the issue in the last days, even though the public was on their side.
A similar issue faced the Trump campaign a year ago. The liberal media laughed when Trump claimed in a debate, that former vice president Kamala Harris supported using taxpayer funds to fund sex change operations for transgender prisoner.
The charge was not absurd. The GOP was able to make a point by using an advertisement that showed the accusation being made by others, including Harris.
Trump and some Democrats share a similar advantage: their actions and positions are so irrational that it is difficult to criticize them without sounding crazy.
