FAIRFAX COUNTY (Va.) – Seven men, two of whom are teachers, face 25 felony charges after a police raid targeting online predators.
Men between the ages of 24 and 50 were caught sending inappropriate messages via social media to undercover agents pretending to be minors. The police arrested all seven suspects who thought they were meeting a minor in a designated place to have a sexual encounter.
Multiple charges have been filed against the following suspects:
- Chad Hockman (50), of Warrenton in Virginia: Charged with solicitation of a minor and indecent liberties with a minor.
- Carlos Antonio Saenz (47), of Manassas in Virginia, is charged with soliciting a minor, contributing to the delinquency and production of child.
- Gustavo Ramos Cahuaya (28 years old), of Sterling, Va., is charged with soliciting a minor, contributing to the delinquency and production of child.
- Richard Joseph Berkowitz of Fairfax (Va.) Charged with four counts for Solicitation of Minors and two counts for Production of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
- Enrique Montesflores, 48, from Arlington, Va., was charged with soliciting a minor and contributing to delinquency.
- Charles Stephen Wolf (24 years old) of Washington, D.C., was charged with three counts: Solicitation of Minors, Use of Vehicle for Promoting Unlawful Sexual Relations with a minor, and Indecent Liberties With a Child.
- Geoffrey Testa (45), of New York, is charged with four counts for solicitation of a minor and production of child sexual abuse material.
Berkowitz was suspended from his position as a physical educator at Falls Church High School on January 27, 2013, according to FCPD Police chief Kevin Davis.
Testa, an Amherst Central High school teacher in Buffalo, was arrested by officials of the state and transported to Erie County Correctional Center for extradition to Fairfax County. As of Tuesday, the Amherst Central Schools website did not mention Testa.
In April 2024, Davis warned that the number of child sex abuse incidents has increased. Five Virginia and Maryland residents arrested by county officers during a spring break online operation.
The operation involved fake accounts created on apps such as TikTok and Snapchat.
Davis and other Fairfax County officials at the time warned parents to pay closer attention to their children’s phone usage and to monitor their social media habits.
Will Steve Descano actually bring the charges to the courts?
