According to a county Republican Party, the Biden-Harris Administration is conducting a campaign of election interference in Virginia. They have filed a suit to make sure noncitizens are kept on the voter list. However, the Department of Elections of the Commonwealth (ELECT), has been complicit for more than a decade in registering unqualified voters.
While the Biden and Harris election meddling occurs after Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-Va.) removed 6,303 citizens from the voter list between January 2022 to July 2024. The Fairfax County Republican Party stated that the Department of Motor Vehicles “enabled” the Virginia bureaucrats in allowing thousands of noncitizens on Virginia’s voting rolls “from as early as 2011”.
Fairfax GOP chairwoman Katie Gorka stated that Youngkin was defending citizens by cleansing our voter lists.
Gorka, speaking to The Federalist in a statement, said that “we are very happy that Governor Youngkin has adopted this position.” The other thing is that only 6,303 people have been taken off the voting rolls. I believe the actual number of voters who need to be removed would probably reach tens of thousands. We both support Governor Youngkin but we also say that we must do more.”
Fairfax GOP, representing the largest county in the Commonwealth by population, released a press statement that said government bureaucrats, dating at least back to Bob McDonnell’s administration, Virginia’s former Republican Governor, who assumed office in 2010, assisted non-citizens to register to vote.
According to a press release, between 2013 and 2023 the DMV did not provide ELECT any document numbers for noncitizens who were legally in the United States. These numbers, which are used by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements program (SAVE), allow ELECT’s to confirm the citizenship of people registering to register to vote.
The press release stated that ELECT had not used SAVE to verify the citizenship of new voters or those who were already registered, even though it has access to the system since 2014.
According to the press release, ELECT failed to use a verification tool that was available by refusing to compare the Social Security Numbers on voter registrations not coming from the DMV to those of the Social Security Administration in order to verify the matching numbers and names.
Gorka stated in a press release that “we have hundreds of poll workers to protect the integrity and fairness of the election. But there’s no way to confirm if those voting are Virginia citizens because DMV and ELECT hide this information from the citizens they purport to represent, the citizens of Virginia.”
The Federalist’s request for a comment was not returned by ELECT.
Since over a decade, Virginia’s institutional powers have prevented the basic standards of election integrity. It is no wonder that the far left actors within the political and activist power structures have attacked Youngkin for his efforts to ensure non-citizens do not vote.
The Biden-Harris Administration has not only filed a lawsuit to prevent illegals from voting but has also joined forces with two left-wing non-profits: the Virginia Coalition for Immigrant Rights, and the League of Women Voters of Virginia , who have filed their own separate suit.
Gorka said in The Federalist that Democrats wanted to get illegal votes to avoid losing the Commonwealth. Virginia is definitely in play. The Hispanic vote is, in my opinion, a very important factor for Virginia. In Virginia, as well as across the nation, there is a large Hispanic community. We are now seeing a significant shift away from Democrats to Republicans. All this combined, Virginia does not look good for Democrats. “They’re concerned, so yes, they fight to keep all possible illegals on the voting rolls.”
The Trump campaign realized over the summer that Virginia was more likely to win than it ever had been in the past. Virginia voted Republican in 2004 for George W. Bush’s reelection. At the time, the campaign opened eleven new offices throughout the Commonwealth.
There are also major Republican races in the U.S. Senate between Republican Hung Cao, D-Va. and Senator Tim Kaine. In U.S. House there is a race between Derrick Anderson, D-Va. and Eugene Vindman. And Virginia’s 2nd District has a contest between Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-Va.) and Democrat Missy Cotter-Smasal.
