PLANNED PARENTHOOD SELLS BABY PARTS FOR “VALUABLE CONSIDERATION” OF OWNING UNIVERSITY “INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY”, NEW DOCUMENTS REVEAL
SAN DIEGO – March 5 – Never-before-seen documents revealed under a public record request show Planned Parenthood transferring ‘proprietary’ aborted fetal bodies parts to UC San Diego for a “valuable consideration”, a violation of federal laws, in exchange for ownership and intellectual property developed by the university through experiments with these body parts.
In a contract called a “Biological Materials Transfer Agreement”, (MTA), between Planned Parenthood of San Diego and UC San Diego, the incriminating conditions of this relationship were outlined. UCSD is granted “access” to PPSD’s proprietary materials, fetal and placental tissues, in the contract. The parties agree that by granting “access”, PPSD will retain all rights, titles and interests in the aborted fetal parts. This includes all patents, patent applications, and other intellectual properties rights relating the Material.
Transferring any human fetal tissues for “valuable” consideration is a federal crime punishable by 10 years of imprisonment or a fine up to $500,000. 289g-2).
Public databases reveal that UC San Diego faculty members have created numerous patents held by University of California using aborted fetal parts. University of California patent revenue totaled over $127m in 2021-2022.
In emails sent in late 2020, UCSD tries to be “extra careful” with “any rights that providers of fetal tissues “retain”.
A particular emailexchange , between Planned Parenthood (the abortion provider) and UCSD (the fetal tissue researcher), is particularly revealing. Planned Parenthood emails UCSD in order to arrange a quarterly meeting for “Planned Parenthood/UCSD Research collaboration Meeting”, where the parties will discuss “payment” as part of Planned Parenthood’s abortion training program.
Planned Parenthood responds that there are no current problems with the collection program, but “have some questions regarding payment to the residency programme”. Planned Parenthood runs the Ryan Residency Training Program in Complex Family Planning and Fellowship in Complex Family Planning, which are funded by taxpayers and run at UC San Diego.
The documents produced in response to the public records request include a contribution of $10,000 from UC San Diego for a fundraising event scheduled for 2021, as well as a registration form of the national research department of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) regarding the harvesting of fetal organs and body parts in San Diego.
The Center for Medical Progress (CMP), responsible for the undercover video series in 2015 that exposed Planned Parenthood’s sale and harvesting of aborted body parts by Planned Parenthood, only obtained the documents after filing a lawsuit for public records against the University. CMP published FOIA documents last year that confirmed the existence of a federal investigation by the HHS Office of Inspection General of the NIH funded fetal tissues bank at University of Pittsburgh which are supplied by Planned Parenthood doctors.
David Daleiden is the founder and president of The Center for Medical Progress. He states that “this new evidence proves Planned Parenthood violates federal law by selling late-term baby body parts for much more money than was ever discussed before.” “Planned Parenthood’s national headquarters was aware of and approved the sales of aborted baby body parts for valuable consideration in government-funded grants. Planned Parenthood must expand the federal OIG’s investigation into fetal trafficking to include its activities in San Diego, and any other locations where it supplies aborted children for taxpayer-funded research. Planned Parenthood’s highest-ranking officials must be sworn in for their involvement in the government-sponsored trafficking late-term abortion babies .”
