Governor Glenn Youngkin announced today that Polyzent Trading, a Virginia-based startup specializing in the manufacturing of stretch film wrap used for industrial palletizing and shipping, will invest $1.1 million to develop the company’s first manufacturing site in Lynchburg. At full capacity, the facility will create 20 new jobs across manufacturing, marketing, and management positions.Â
Today, Governor Youngkin announced that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS) May 2025 Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) reports a sharp increase in job openings and hires. On the last business day in May, there were 251,000 job openings in Virginia, seasonally adjusted—an increase of 63,000 from April’s revised figure and one of the largest increases in the nation. The Virginia job openings rate rose to 5.5 percent from the prior month, significantly higher than the 4.6 percent increase of the national job openings, which had changed little over the month.Â
In a landmark move, Virginia’s Republican-led legislature has passed House Bill 2783, a law that carefully distinguishes between the sacred swastika, a symbol of peace and prosperity in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, and the Nazi Hakenkreuz, a notorious emblem of hate.
