In the wake of the Republican Party's crushing defeats in Virginia's 2025 statewide elections, Scott Pio, Chairman of the Republican Party of Loudoun, today issued a urgent call for the immediate resignation of Mark Peake, Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia (RPV), the executive leadership, and every member of the State Central Committee who has worked as a consultant or company in the last 5 years for any candidate or PAC in Virginia.

LYNCHBURG REPUBLICAN CITY COMMITTEE FILES LAWSUIT CHALLENGING VIRGINIA’S “CONVENTION BAN LAW” AS AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL VIOLATION OF THE FREE ASSOCIATION RIGHTS OF POLITICAL PARTIES

Today, the Lynchburg Republican City Committee (“LRCC”), and its chairwoman Veronica Bratton, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Virginia Department of Elections, the State Board of Elections and Susan Beals, the Commissioner of the Department of Elections, in her official capacity, challenging Virginia’s new “Convention Ban Law” as an unconstitutional violation of the rights of political parties to free association.
