Northern Virginia Building Industry Association Donates Nearly $19,000 Supporting Progressive Virginia Candidates

The Northern Virginia Building Industry Association made a donation of $18,929.41 to NoVa Build PAC on August 26, 2026. This contribution adds to the resources available for the PAC to support candidates in Virginia elections. NVBIA serves as the primary contributor to the PAC according to available campaign finance records.

NoVa Build PAC has directed funds to numerous Democratic candidates in recent cycles. Recipients include David Bulova with $13,000, Scott Surovell with $13,000, Candi King with $10,500, Marcus Simon with $10,000, and Josh Thomas with $8,500. Additional support went to Jeremy McPike, Luke Torian, Briana Sewell, and Dan Helmer among others.

NVBIA itself has a history of political contributions across Virginia races. Records show the association has given to committees and candidates including those affiliated with Richard Saslaw, Jeremy McPike, and Scott Surovell in past cycles. The organization maintains membership ties to the Home Builders Association of Virginia and the National Association of Home Builders.

By channeling resources into NoVa Build PAC, NVBIA enables ongoing financial support for elected officials who have benefited from the PAC’s expenditures. The PAC’s activities include backing candidates whose legislative records involve positions on housing policy and government spending that align with Democratic priorities in the state. This pattern of giving raises questions about alignment with free enterprise principles emphasized by the association in its public materials.

NoVa Build PAC maintains a focus on housing affordability and permitting issues in its advocacy. The recent donation from NVBIA bolsters the PAC’s capacity to engage in candidate support ahead of upcoming elections. Campaign finance disclosures continue to track these flows between the association and its political arm.
