Loudoun County, VA – Prominent leaders within the Indian American community have publicly endorsed Mike Clancy, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Virginia’s 10th District. This coalition of leaders across various faith backgrounds, including Christian, Sikh, Hindu, and Muslim, stand united in their support for Clancy’s commitment to family values, religious freedom, and parental rights in education.
In a statement released today, Indian American community leaders emphasized their shared values with Clancy. “Our values include respect for families, religious freedoms, and the rights of parents to guide their children’s education. Mike Clancy stands with us, supporting parental rights and freedom of faith, and he stands firmly against hate groups and divisive agendas,” the statement read.
The leaders contrasted Clancy’s values with those of his opponent, Democrat Suhas Subramanyam, highlighting policy stances they find concerning. The statement points to Subramanyam’s support for legislation allowing biological males to compete in girls’ sports, policies against notifying parents about sexually explicit content in schools, and his opposition to parental notifications regarding gender transitions in school settings. These stances, they argue, undermine the rights of parents and conflict with their values.
Mike Clancy’s platform has resonated with these leaders due to his commitment to protecting parental rights, religious freedom, and the privacy of girls’ spaces.
“We encourage all who share our values to stand with us by voting for Mike Clancy, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in this election,” the endorsement concluded.
